Typically, a Mule Deer Buck will render 90 lbs. to 110 lbs. of meat. A Whitetail Buck will render approximately 50 lbs. to 60 lbs. of meat, while a Whitetail Doe will render about 40 lbs. to 50 lbs.
We absolutely have coolers for purchase! If you are flying home, you will need two coolers to transport your meat home from a Mule Deer (while maintaining airline baggage weight limits). A Whitetail will normally fit in a single cooler.
Yes. We have archery targets available for you to practice on and check your gear.
Only if you plan on spotting and stalking a deer. Our hunters primarily hunt in elevated, heated blinds that only require a Camo or Black shirt, and a Camo or Black hat.
We have complimentary laundry service, so three sets of hunting clothes will be all you need. Layered clothing is recommended due to the wide range of weather conditions common in South Dakota.

Absolutely! We can arrange for you to hunt another property for pheasant. Due to the high cost of vendor rentals, we strongly suggest you bring your own shotgun for this activity! Their current day hunt rate is $250 + tax; this includes guided hunt over dogs, 3 roosters and a complimentary lunch. Additional birds are available for $35/bird. You will also need to purchase a SD non-resident shooting preserve license for this activity. We can assist you in obtaining this online during your stay. Our transport fee to and from this facility is $75/day + 6% SD tax for you or your group.
We hunt Free-Range deer. All deer travel unobstructed through our property.
We require a 50% NON-REFUNDABLE deposit to book your hunt. The balance is due in cash upon your arrival at the lodge.
Children are welcome if they are accompanied by an adult at all times. There is a $100/day fee + 6% SD tax for each non-hunter in your party.
Hunting is not required if you are part of a hunt party. We offer Bed & Breakfast services during the non-hunting season from April-June and August. Please call us for details!
We are a small ranch and can only accommodate a maximum of two hunters on property at a time (a single hunt party). Our standard fee applies for each hunter.
We can certainly accommodate archery hunters who are beginners, however it is imperative that you are familiar with your bow and arrow and have the skills to shoot accurately at 20 yards. This takes practice! Please call us to discuss. This will greatly enhance your chances of successfully harvesting a deer.
